Finishing & Paint Work
Copacetic Customs is our refinishing / paint department. Paint is near and dear to our hearts and is what got us into the guitar business. We specialize in authentic vintage restorations and vintage-inspired aged or "relic" finishes that capture the vibe of well-loved instruments of yesteryear.
But we don't stop there! We also offer clean NOS finishes and tons of modern options like Chameleon/Colorshift colors, Candies, Pearls, and even metal flake/sparkle finishes! We don't limit our customers to a handful of options and a single color chart, we can match or replicate just about any color you have in mind. Keep in mind these prices are just estimates and some rarer colors may only be available in 'premium' lines which will be $10-40 more than the prices below.

Finish Stripping
Need an existing finish stripped before painting? Its not a "must" and existing finishes can be sanded and sprayed on top of, but stripping is recommended if worried about finish thickness or if the old color might clash with the new if it ever gets dinged or chipped.

Assembly / Pro Setup
We can reassemble and set your guitar up after painting it for a modest fee, and make sure it plays and feels better than when it came to us. We can also assemble those parts youve had lying around into a completed guitar! We'll help you fill in any gaps you may have and get your project across the finish line.

$300-500 - Full Initial Assembly & Setup (Customer provides all parts)
$50 - Fingerboard Edge Rolling
Pro Setup Includes:
- Proper nut slotting/lubrication
- Fret leveling/polishing
- Fret end dressing/light edge rolling
- Fingerboard conditioning/waxing
- Tremolo setup
- Intonation & action
- Standard Daddario 9's, 10's, or 11's
- Neck angle setup (Including full pocket shims if needed)
- Basic hardware installation (tuners, pickguards, etc.)
... And anything else it needs to play its best!
